Environmental Stewardship Award Winners

10/5/2012

In news unrelated to vision and eyecare…

I would like to give a personal note of congratulations to my family, Cal and Julie Hoff and my husband Casey who were awarded North Dakota’s 2012 Environmental Stewardship Award at the ND Stockman’s Association Conference in Fargo last weekend. The stewardship award is given to a beef producing person(s) or business who makes environmental stewardship a priority while also improving production and profitability.

The Environmental Stewardship website says this award “annually recognizes the outstanding stewardship practices and conservation achievements of U.S. cattle producers from across the nation”… [w]inners have been commended for their commitment to protecting the environment and improving fish and wildlife habitats while operating profitable cattle operations. The common trait among all winners is the desire to leave the land in better shape for future generations while also inspiring the next generation of land stewards.”

Sincerest congratulations to CJ and Company and on a personal note, I must say I am so proud to be part of a sustainable, responsible, profitable ranching and farming operation. My knowledge of the industries and business expands daily!

Our entire family owes a great deal of thanks to the ND Stockmen’s Association for recognizing our family’s work, we also would like to extend a huge thank you to Koko Gjermundson who put together a fabulous piece of journalism detailing the operation both in pictures and in words. And finally we would like to sincerely thank Karl Rockeman, Jerry Tuhy and Dr. Tom Fricke for their work in contributing to our application. We are so honored to receive this award and bless to be living in such a wonderful corner of the world!
