Insurance Questions?

We have had an increase in inquiries lately about what types of medical and vision insurance our office accepts. Medical and vision insurance plans are offered by most employers today and are a wonderful benefit for employees. If your employer offers vision insurance, thank them for looking out for the health of your eyes!

Currently, in our office, we accept plans from vision providers including Avesis, EyeMed, Superior Vision, North Dakota Vision, and VSP. These companies offer many different types of coverage and it is very important to note that we do not accept every single plan offered by these companies, but we accept most of them. We are happy to accept insurance, because it makes important and needed eyecare more affordable!

We also accept a wide variety of medical insurance, which may cover an annual comprehensive eye exam in some cases and also can be used in our office to cover emergencies related to the eyes and vision. This includes eye infections, eye allergies, dry eye problems as well as injuries in and around the eyes, flashes or floaters, or sudden changes in your vision. Blue Cross Blue Shield, United HealthCare, Medicare, Humana, Aetna, Medica, and Assurant are just a few examples of medical insurance plans accepted at King Family Eye Clinic.

If there was a single recommendation I could make to all patients it would be this: vision is a priceless gift and insurance is a way to protect your vision affordably. Take advantage of the insurance benefits that your employer offers. They are a gift! If you don’t understand your coverage contact your human resource manager or your health care provider. We are happy to answer insurance related questions and check your eligibility. Benefits vary widely and can change at any time. We are here to help!
